چکیده
Equine piroplasmosis is an acute, subacute or chronic tick-borne disease due to Babesia caballi and/or Theileria equi, affecting Equidae and causing economic losses horse breeders poor performances during tournaments. The objectives were fourfold: first determine the seroprevalence of in horses via cELISA, second establish haematological profile different Algerian areas through optical microscopy, third identify risk factors associated with infection, forth try elucidate any eventual correlation between anaemia. study was carried out regions northern Algeria. A total 182 both sexes blood tested estimate prevalence equi competitive ELISA examine microscopically thin stained smears looking for alterations using a standard cell counter. Parasites detected 42.9% after microscopic examination smears. equine infection 39% 1,1% respectively. Therefore, present Algeria predominance positivity central region (54,5%). Season (winter), (central) intended activity are significantly disease. Anaemia observed 34,61% individuals but there no significant differences positive negative populations. Piroplasmosis endemic Measures such as limiting horses’ mobility should be taken reduce/prevent dissemination

Equine piroplasmosis.
Equine piroplasmosis, caused by the parasites Theileria equi and Babesia caballi, is a globally important disease, affecting a large percentage of the world's horses. This article serves as a review of these divergent parasites. Discussed are the clinical presentation of disease, diagnosis, and treatment. Special attention is given to the current disease status specifically in North America.

The importance of equine piroplasmosis control in endemic countries has increased in recent years and plays an important role to maintain the international market open to the horse industry. The purpose of this study was to demonstrate the occurrence of equine piroplasmosis (Babesia equi or Theileria equi and Babesia caballi) in Brazil--a country where the disease occurs endemically--in differe...
متن کاملMolecular and Serological Evidence for the Presence of Novel Phleboviruses in Sandflies from Northern Algeria
During summer 2007, a total of 785 phlebotomine flies were trapped in northern Algeria, identified morphologically, organised as monospecific pools and tested for the presence of phlebovirus RNA using degenerate primers. Three pools were positive, and the corresponding PCR products were cloned and sequenced. Viral sequences corresponding to two phleboviruses distinct from each other were detect...
متن کاملPrevalence of equine viral arteritis in Algeria.
In order to determine the prevalence of equine viral arteritis in Algeria, 268 sera from non-vaccinated horses were collected from the western and eastern regions. Serological analysis of the sera, which were collected from 2009 to 2011, was performed using the virus neutralisation test, as described by the World Organisation for Animal Health. Overall, 20 sera (7.46%) were seropositive, 152 (5...
